Housing Fund of the Republic of Slovenia embarked on a pilot project of creating a new residential neighborhood intended for housing independence of youth ages 18-29. Youth community Gerbičeva is constituted of up to 110 new affordable rental residential units and located on Gerbičeva Street, in the area where several student housing centers already exist.
The project is currently in the phase of project documentation preparation and obtaining of a building permit. The construction is planned to begin in early 2019. The building is four stories high and consists of two types of residential units: for one or two residents. It also features an intergenerational center with a common multipurpose room, a kitchen with a dining room and a living room, office and service spaces with a separate entrance and access to the atrium.
Youth community Gerbičeva uses simple and functional solutions to ensure maximum quality of life. The design allows for the creation of apartments tailored to the needs of its young residents while providing a high level of privacy and allowing for different levels of association with the community.
